Re: Lets drop the Blame culture
I agree that we need to focus on getting the Country back on its feet and putting the feel good factor back into every household but as Politicians we find it hard not to point the finger at the current government who have squandered a very healthy balance sheet over 10 years, led I may say by Gordon Brown himself and are now asking us all to pay for a decade of irresponsibility.
But I have to say that from the feed back I have had from the doorstep the general public are pretty hacked off with the whole political system. I wrote in my blog last week about a letter I had that echoed what many are thinking and indeed the need for the cross party bun fighting to stop - here's a snippet
“I’m sick and tired of the constant Political circus that is paraded on my television every day. If it’s not corruption and expense fiddling it’s cross party bun fighting, childish point scoring on a sickening daily basis. It’s either the BBC with no other world news or the Government constantly spinning bad news to drive us all into personal depression whilst struggling with this recession. Grow up and get on with the job of working together to get us out of this mess that ultimately a set of inexperienced ministers have got us into.”
I’ve read the letter several times now and conclude that I couldn’t agree more. I know from knocking doors that the public are sick and tired of Politics, they’re ready for change undoubtedly but they are ready for REAL change. A change of system, a change of culture and change from the feeling we’re living in a controlled world, destined to be boxed in our social demographic, frightened to speak our minds or tell the truth. Frightened to tell it how it really is.
